I once told my mom I wanted a dark red wedding dress and that was a no go! Wedding dresses are traditionally white and come with a lot of symbolism and its what’s expected! But I love to see a bride that goes against the grain and does something unique and lets her personality shine through! When I saw this was trending I knew I had to put a styled shoot together to showcase this awesome movement!

We had so many amazing vendors come together for this shoot and the weather turned out perfectly!

Just the week before we had Snow on the ground in Texas! Its amazing that 7 days later it was sunny and 70 degrees! The very next day was cold and rainy so we got super lucky. I actually went back the day after our shoot to get a few more detail shots and everything had a light mist on it, so if you see some photos of flowers that look like they have little raindrops on them, that’s because they do! Check out some amazing Florals by Breck and Co Floral based in Cleburne. They are also right next to Moms Kitchen, who provided the cake, and Brides and Beyond who provided some beautiful accessories (And spoiler, the provided some beautiful White wedding gowns that I will post next week!).

This boquet probably weighed 20 lbs and I was blown away when I saw the amazing floral arches that Breck and Co created! The flowers were so beautiful and unique!

This styled shoot would not have been possible without our amazing make up artist Brittney Minor! She helped put a lot of our details together! She found our beautiful models and helped throughout the whole process of putting this all together. She also introduced me to the awesome Hair Stylist Lauren Spencer! You will see how awesome both of their styles are throughout the images!

Our models Cathryn and Kevin were the perfect couple for this and they had fun getting to “practice” some wedding traditions! We especially had fun with the cake cutting (and eating!) since Moms Kitchen is known for having the most delicious cakes! I love the burgundy detail of the Red Velvet cake and her frosting is like none other. Its like having creamy ice cream on top!

We even had an awesome bartender attend the event. C Events Bartending offers quality service at an affordable price! They have partnered with our Venue to have special packages for our brides and grooms and we couldn’t be happier to be working with such an awesome team. Our bartender, Courtney, provided on theme drinks that were perfect for our little event!

Our Romantic Dark Fairytale Wedding ended with a candlelit dinner table overflowing with flowers and gold details. The linens and chairs were supplied by our favorite, Lone Star Rents, and a few of these details and some of our antique furniture was donated by Pop and Grans antique shop in downtown Grandview. Pop and Grans is probably the best antique store I have ever been in and even if you don’t think you like antiques, you can find some awesome items in there. We’ve gotten books, music, wine glasses, and more!
